Gravel Filtration Upgrade Enhances MRT Circular Line and Urban Water Quality in New Taipei City, Taiwan
◎ Models Installed: AF Series - Submersible Sewage / Wastewater Pumps
◎ Description:
New Taipei City is enhancing public transportation by integrating its MRT system with Taipei and Taoyuan as part of a development plan. The Circular Line will pass through Jixian Environmental Protection Park, located next to the planned site for the Northern Depot, Taiwan’s first underground MRT maintenance facility. To align with the Northern Circular Line construction, the Ximei Drainage gravel filtration facility has been upgraded to improve urban water quality and strengthen ecological resilience. This gravel filtration system uses natural gravel as a filtration medium. By slowing the flow of wastewater, microorganisms attached to the gravel decompose suspended solids, effectively purifying the water. Supporting this process are HCP PUMP AF Series submersible sewage pumps, ranging from 3 to 10 HP with different types of impellers. These cast-iron pumps are designed for durability and space efficiency. The 100(150)AFE47.5 model features a non-clog impeller that handles large particle sizes, while 3 high-head AFP models further optimize water flow and lift capacity. Together, they help the Ximei Drainage system maintain water purification, support urban development, and promote long-term ecological sustainability.
AFE Series - submersible sewage / wastewater pumps has won 31th Taiwan Excellence Award!
